Dorota Pehnke-Sosnowska

MIDWIFE

I became a midwife by accident. My cousin really wanted to have that profession but unfortunately, back then men were not accepted. It was thanks to him, however, that I became interested in obstetrics and I have been a midwife for 28 years by now. While training to be a midwife in a Medical School I understood, that this job is exceptional and requires knowledge, experience, patience and a lot of empathy.

These values are always with me whenever I work with my patients and their small babies. It is a constant challenge that gives me a lot of satisfaction. I deepen my medical knowledge all the time and I master my skills. I graduated from Gdańsk Medical Academy with a master degree. Currently I am attending a post-graduate two-year specialization course. I will take a state examination in 2018.I take part in numerous conferences, trainings and specialization courses.

I am a member of a Commission for Midwifery in Regional Chamber of Nurses and Midwives in Gdańsk. Majority of my professional life is connected with the Hospital, Kliniczna Street. I was working there in the Delivery ward, Pathology pregnancy, Emergency room, Obstetrics insulation and on the operating block as an anesthesiologist midwife. I was also working for Swissmed Company. Right now I am working in University Clinic Centre (Kliniczna Hospital) in midwifery.

Anna Michalska

PSYCHOLOGIST-SEXOLOGIST

I graduated from Gdańsk University with the master degree of psychology. My main specialization was clinic psychology. I also hold a diploma of postgraduate studies form clinic psychology preparing me to specialize further in this field of Gdańsk Medical University and post-graduate studies form SWPS from clinic sexology.

I am currently employed at Midwifery Clinic. I have much experience in work with the couples who are preparing for the childbirth of their baby. My interests are generally connected with a general concept of the psychology of health.

Magdalena Wysocka

DIETICIAN

As well as holding a master degree at Biomedical Engineering I am also a medical dietician. I was studying both at Gdańsk University and Gdańsk Polytechnics. Currently I am working on my doctor thesis on biofilm in urinary tract infections.

I was upgrading my professional experience in hospital where I was working with a vast group of patients. As dietetics is one of the fastest developing branches of knowledge, I believe one should constantly deepen this knowledge, therefore I am all the time learning at different courses, workshops and conferences. “Add a diet” is the name of my surgery where I work with my patients on the change of their eating habits.

I also work with pregnant women and with the selected illnesses (auto immunologic and urinary tract diseases). My approach towards healthy food is based on scientific knowledge, accurate data from respected sources, specialist literature and my own knowledge and experience. The most important rule for me is individual approach as far as nutrition is concerned.
